Future Tense
- Will … instant decision
( telephone rings ) I’ll answer it .
عمل غير مخطط له , عندما يرن التلفون مثلاً
قرار فوري و بدون تخطيط
- Going to ….present intention for the future
I’m going to meet hary .
هناك موعد مسبق
- Present continuous ….to talk about an arrangement
I’m meeting sami this evening
The use of going to & present continuous is very similar
You can always use going to instead of present continuous
Predictions توقعات
We use will & going to to make predictions
You’re going to drop those plates if you’re not carefull .
All the polls suggest that that the government is going to win .
Other ways of making predictions :
Modal verbs:
Economists say that the inflation may well rise .
Adverbs & phrases : likely to , certain to , there’s a good chance that , etc
There’s a good chance that our team will win .
In this heat , it’s likely to be uncomfatable journey .
- future continuous :
I’ll be studying at 10.00 pm , call me later .
أنا راح كون عم أدرس الساعة 10 مساء اتصل فيما بعد
I’ll be driving ….
We ‘ll be having lunch at eight o’clock this evening .
Future perfect :
I’ll have finished my work at 10 o’clock
يعني راح كون قد أنهيت عملي الساعة 10
Compare :
We’ll have finished work painting the ceiling at 8 o’clock .
= we will finish work by before then .
سننهي العمل قبل الساعة 8
We will finish work at 8 o’clock
= we will finish work then
سننهي العمل الساعة 8
